You will then be able to trace this individual back through the generations using the allocated references known as "Henry Numbers". (e.g. 5.2.1 is son of 5.2 who is son of 5)

The last link on the left leads to an examination of what is known about the origin of the name. On balance it is most likely that branches of the Pedwardine family changed there name to Pepperdine after they left the manor at Burton Pedwardine in Lincolnshire but we have no proof of this.
