Burial Sites used to compile these lists

The following summary shows burial sites surveyed.
They are arranged according to the number of persons mentioned on inscriptions. It is possible to gain a rough estimate of the number of individuals before starting a survey by noting the year in which the 1813 burial register was closed and calculating the number of years in which it was in use. If 38,000 is then divided by this figure you have a rough estimate of what to expect. At least sufficient idea to classify the survey as small (< 250), medium (250 to 900) or large (> 900)
The figure for people indexed is slightly overstated since the same person is sometimes mentioned both in the churchyard and inside the church and sometimes more than once inside the church. This figure also includes individuals mentioned on war memorials and persons mentioned on grave stones but not buried in the same parish.

If you know of any burial site south of the A47 and west of the A11 which has not been surveyed please let me know. In 2006 I have been asked to start with Stow Bedon but this has yet to be arranged.
